Belgrade to Greece Athens Thessaloniki
Greece is located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. How to Greece by plane?
Plane is the most comfortable option, and it takes only a few hours of flight to get pretty much everywhere in Greece. Note that Belgrade is very well connected to all the parts of Greece, which makes flying even a better option. You can take plane to capital – Athens, but also to other very popular tourist destinations as Thessaloniki, Corfu, Rhodes, Santorini, Zakynthos Island, Mykonos, Skiathos, Samos, etc. Options are endless! Flying will definitely save your time for exploring all the treasures made by man and nature over the centuries. Although, this is a pretty convenient option for many reasons, have in mind that it is also the most expensive one, and most limiting one, too – in a sense that it sets boundaries to one place only.
How to Greece by night train?
There is one train line daily, from Belgrade to Athens through Thessaloniki. It departures from Belgrade each day in late post midnight hours, and arrives to Athens in approximately 20 hours – which makes this option definitely one of the least favorites! Another con is that it is also pretty limiting, since there are no “tour breaks” to visit and see Thessaloniki on the way to the capital. Have in mind that trains are half modern, pretty basic, but very comfortable. The main reason some of the people go up for this one is the price! Also note that if you are a student, you will have a 10-15% discount on the ticket! So, if you are looking to save some money, but still enjoy Greece, this one is for you definitely!
How to Greece by bus?
When it comes to reaching most popular tourist destinations, you are pretty limited if traveling by bus. In this case, only some of locations will be available as Athens, Thessaloniki, Larissa, etc. That is definitely the main con! Traveling hours are between 13 and 20 depending on where are you headed too. So, time saving is also not an option. Buses are very modern and comfortable which makes traveling pleasant and enjoyable, and prices are pretty reasonable – also keep that in mind. Departures from Belgrade are several times a week – 2 or 3 depending on a time of the year. In the peak of the season, make sure to book your tickets on time!
How to Greece by car?
Although it might take a lot of time to reach your destination, this traveling option is among our favorites, since it gives you an opportunity to be completely spontaneous and stop by any place you like! And there will be many, since Greece’s nature and landmarks are exquisite and breathtaking! The main con is that driving can be pretty tiring and exhausting, and definitely can be expensive option unless you are sharing a ride with friends/family members. The “tiring” part also might not have to be the case if your friends are also drivers!
Consider all of these given options, and see what suits you the best. But make sure not to miss Greece!
