Living in Downtown

Story about Living in Downtown of Belgrade. Amazing story to be told. Belgrade downtown is a romantic and at the same time apocalyptic place. Mix of Capitalism and Communism can be felt all around the city. Architecture of the downtown is influenced by Austro Hungarian Empire. Old beautiful buildings that have so much to tell. Those buildings are purely maintained. Facades are covered by dirt and graffiti’s. Government is slowly trying to get the downtown painted and make it pretty. This process is going on but pretty slow. Still much work to be done. It is definitely way better then before. Exactly that mess is what makes living in Downtown so special.

Living in Downtown is a Hot Mess

Hot Mess starts with no enough parking spaces at the streets. If you are resident of a downtown, you will get special stamp place on your car. With that stamp you are allowed to park the car on a street. If you are visiting downtown you have to go for a Public Parking. Public Parking places can be sometimes far from your final destination. Di you know that every single building is covered with graffiti’s. Belgrade Graffiti’s become spread phenomenon that no one pays attention on removing them anymore. They blended in the downtown of Belgrade. In the old super cool buildings, you will find that neighbors very often don’t talk with each other. Ground floor tenant doesn’t want to pay maintenance of the old elevators. Very often they dont want to pay for the maintenance of the roof as well. Then the last floor tenants don’t want to pay for the maintains of the building interior. Local city government is trying to solve this issue for quite some time now. Its not that bad at all its just funny at some point. Still everything works perfectly though.
