Spirit of old Belgrade
Modernization of our capital took the accent in last decade. Not just in architecture, in all other spheres as well. But while we are heading towards new beginnings, we must not forget the Spirit of old Belgrade. To “see and feel” real Belgrade, you need to understand our history first. Today we are suggesting that you explore one of the oldest and best restaurants in Belgrade.

Restaurant Klub Knjizevnika (Writers Club) was founded in the middle of the last century, in 1946. In the beginning, the guests of the Club had to have a membership card to get into it, and after that around Belgrade circulated a joke that was more important to be a member of the Writers Club (Klub Knjizevnika) than a member of Association of Writers.

This venue was always popular among writers and actors: Jean Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Richard Burton, Sophia Loren, Alberto Moravia, Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood and many others.
