Walking around the city
What is more romantic than talking while a long walk? There are many great locations where you can go for a nice walk. For example: Knez Mihailova street (main pedestrian zone) and Kalemegdan fortress. We suggest to start your tour earlier in the morning. Without many people, you will enjoy this pedestrian zone in all it’s glory. At the end of Knez Mihailova, great Kalemegdan fortress follows. A fairy tale castle, a great plateau overlooking across the river. Next places are beautiful quays. Belgrade is blessed with two great European rivers: Sava and Danube. Confluence of those two rivers is a spectacular view for itself. Zemunski Kej (Quey) is one of the most romantic spots in Belgrade. You will also find some fantastic coffee shops where you can relax and enjoy the view. There are quite a few good restaurants and splavs where you can have a meal. Restaurants are cozy and tucked, so they are perfect for long conversations. Just a few restaurants you may want to check out are Saran, Reka and Talas. The food is amazing and they all have a really great atmosphere. Next is bohemian quarter of Belgrade – Skadarlija. While walking trough this street, you will feel like you are a few centuries back.

Romantic activities in Belgrade
Belgrade’s sea, Ada Ciganlija lake is favorite romantic location for Belgraders. During the day and night, you can always keep your second half entertained. We suggest to rent a bicycle and make minimum one circle around the lake (which is 7 kilometers long). Then, make a break in one of the coffee shops (Ada has a lot to offer) and if you feel like it, you can even prolong your ride to other parts of the city.
Picnics are above any other romantic gesture. Belgrade is full of beautiful parks where you can spread your blanket, and put your picnic basket. Kosutnjak and Zvezdara forest are perfect for that. Nature, greenery with a bird singing are perfect runaway from city, without leaving it. You can always find a perfect spot for intimate chit-chats.
Movie theaters are always great options. In big chains movie theaters in Belgrade, you can reserve sweetheart seats. This seats are wide as two normal seats, without arm holder in the middle, so you can watch some romantic comedy with your significant other with a cozy hug. Other suggestion is movie theater called “Zvezda”. During spring, summer and autumn they held projection of cult films on an open sky rooftop. Good to know is that all movies which are projected in Belgrade’s theaters are with subtitles, they are not synchronized.
You can never go wrong with theaters, museums and art galleries in Belgrade. Ballet and opera performances will leave you speechless. If you are more arty kind of person, then you will choose one of the great Belgrade’s galleries. Suggestion is to visit gallery of Frescoes.
